Springwell Learning Community is looking to recruit an experienced, enthusiastic, creative and fully qualified Therapist to join our small therapy team. The position would suit registered family therapists, creative therapists (art, drama, play) and/or practitioners with experience of dyadic/joint parent and child work. The candidate will work on early intervention with primary aged children in a special school setting for two days a week. As well as a post graduate therapeutic qualification the candidate will need to be BAPT, BAAT, BADth or BACP registered. The Therapist should have two years post qualifying experience in an educational setting working with primary aged children. A qualification in Filial Therapy, Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy or Theraplay would be advantageous. Experience of working with children and young people with developmental trauma is essential.
The successful candidate will be required to attend regular, funded clinical supervision with an affiliated body.
Duties: The post holder will provide a service for the special academy, which is for pupils with social, emotional and mental health difficulties. The post holder will maintain confidentiality in dealing with children, their therapy care and make decisions within the frame work of safeguarding children guidelines. The post holder will be expected to communicate information to the academy child protection officer. The post holder must be efficient in end of therapy and intermediate report writing, case notes and professional keeping of records. The post holder must also be able to evaluate and monitor the children using a log which is filled in after sessions.
The post holder must recognise that the academy will need feedback and strategies to further support a child once the therapy has ended and reports will be accessible without compromising confidentiality.
Referrals: These will come through the teaching staff/management and be discussed at a therapy team meeting and also by the safeguarding team.
