Springwell Learning Community is expanding and is looking to appoint a Special Educational Needs teacher for a bespoke provision for key stage 3 and 4 pupils with specific needs around communication and interaction. The position would suit a special needs teacher with the enthusiasm, creativity, resilience and experience to teach in this bespoke provision, leading a class and delivering Maths, English, PSHE, SEAL and other subjects through our Elements thematic curriculum to a primary model, with the input of specialist peripatetic teachers for pupils in key stage 4, along with providing personalisation, interventions and communication and interaction strategies. If you are already a SEN specialist, or have experience of working effectively with pupils with special needs in primary or secondary mainstream and relish the opportunity of moving into special education, then this position is ideal. High levels of support and specialist training will be provided for a teacher with the values and ethos that will allow you to work as part of our superb team.

We are seeking:

  • Exceptional teacher who is able to work with pupils with special needs or an outstanding NQT passionate about working in a SEN setting
  • An individual who is passionate about making a real difference to student’s life chances and supporting them in achieving their potential
  • The ability to be creative and use imaginative flair to engage is essential, along with having unconditional positive regard, resilience, drive and high expectations to inspire students to achieve
  • Experience of, or willingness to train in communication and interaction strategies
