Children’s Mental Health Week took place from 3rd-9th February 2020 and encouraged children to ‘find their brave’ through this year’s theme. This week led to the academy being a real hive of activity with the children taking part in a range of workshops and sessions, which not only promoted the importance of bravery but to encourage positive mental health and wellbeing.
In addition to our existing mental health and wellbeing offer, delivered by our LaceyField care team, we offered a range of additional workshops to promote mindfulness, self-care and wellbeing throughout our academy. Our Wellbeing Warriors enjoyed making their very own self-care packages, inspired by The Happy Newspaper and positive pillowcases to help promote better sleep. Many of these additional workshops were supported by our Wellbeing Ambassadors, with some of our older pupils helping to deliver managing emotions workshops to our KS1 pupils.
As well as additional workshops happening across the academy, the EYFS team have been busy creating nurture nooks and additional sensory spaces for therapeutic interventions to take place. A huge thank you to the EYFS team for going above and bee-yond to ensure these new spaces were ready for our new term!
