Springwell Learning Community, Greenacre School and Joseph Norton Academy. Through our

The posts will suit candidates who have the commitment, passion and resilience to make a difference to
pupils who have a range of social, emotional, mental health and special educational needs.
These positions may suit those wishing to develop a career within the Special Education Sector.
College/University graduates are welcome to apply, as full training will be offered to candidates wishing to
develop a career in this setting. The positions may be of particular interest to applicants who have a
passion in supporting the emotional and mental health needs of young people. We are a national training
school (Barnsley Positive Regard Teaching School) and therefore able to support a career path for aspiring
teachers through a rigorous development programme.
Successful candidates will be responsible for:
● Working with the classroom teacher closely to ensure outstanding progress in learning
● Support and leading nurture, interventions and some group learning in maths, English, P.S.H.C.E
and other subjects
● Overseeing practical, kinaesthetic, sport, physical/outdoor activities where required
● Supporting the development of resilience, self-esteem, social skills and strategies for regulation
Post holders require:
● At least level 2 qualifications in English and Maths
● Experience of working in an educational setting
● The ability to build positive relationships and have unconditional positive regard for children and
● Understanding and experience of strategies to support children and young people with SEMH and
● Ability to personalise learning
● Driving licence desirable for possible traveling between sites.
