Communicolour A World Less Grey
Wellspring’s Communicolour programme takes its place within the rich historical pantheon of Art In Schools.
Public art in schools is not new. There is a long international history of mural painting, sculpture and other forms of art in schools; as pedagogic tools and as accessible public art. From the ‘Art In Schools’ movement in France in the 1880’s & 90’s to the Chicago Mural Movement of the 1930’s, from Soviet (and post-Soviet) school decoration, via the tradition of sculpture in Japanese schools to post-war Art In Education commissions in British schools.
Like all good art, architecture and design, Communicolour interventions prompt us to see things differently.
