Last month (Dec 2022), the Department for Education announced the latest schools to be rebuilt or substantially refurbished under the government’s School Rebuilding Programme – and Horncastle Primary School was on the list!
239 schools were named in this latest announcement, bringing the total number of schools to receive funding up to 500. Horncastle Primary School joins Wellspring’s Beacon Academy, which secured rebuild funding under the School Rebuilding Programme in a previous round.
The funding for Horncastle Primary School will help deliver a state of the art learning environment and enable the school to completely renovate and modernise its facilities. The rebuild is due to be completed in the next three to five years.
Mark Wilson, CEO at Wellspring, said: “At Wellspring, we understand that the quality of the environment in which children learn is of central importance. It affects their educational outcomes, school experience and their overall wellbeing.
“The announcement that Horncastle Primary School is to be improved under the Department for Education’s School Rebuilding Programme is very welcome news, and will ensure that pupils have an improved school building that supports every aspect of their learning, now and well into the future.”
