We’re incredibly proud to be able to share some fantastic news with you all. Late last year, we were invited to a smart reception at the House of Lords where we discovered we had been named MAT of the Year at the National Schools Awards!
This accolade is testament to the wonderful work that the entire Wellspring team puts into improving the lives and life chances of our pupils, day in, day out. We know that our unique approach works and that we Make A Difference in a thousand different ways every single day. To have that recognised externally with this top award is a huge pat on the back for all our employees, partners and supporters.
As well as winning the top award, Beacon Academy was also a finalist in the Leadership Team of the Year and George Krawiec, the school’s chair of governors, was a finalist in the Governor of the Year category. Mark Wood (Chief Finance Officer), Karen Froggatt (Clerk to the trust board), Jason Thurley (Head at Beacon Academy), George Krawiec (Beacon’s Chair of Governors), Hearl Lenton (Chair of the Wellspring board) and all attended the awards ceremony in late December last year.
Mark Wilson, Chief Executive Officer at Wellspring, had this to say about the award win: “We really believe that this award belongs to the whole of the education sector. Everybody in every school setting and college has performed brilliantly to support families and ensure continuity of education throughout these difficult times. I am delighted that Wellspring has been recognised for its work. Any things that we do that have been recognised by the judges as good practice in the sector are things that we can share with others to aid them.”
A huge well done to everyone!
